As long as you have your lamppost

Amelia Singer is an internationally acclaimed Wine Culturalist, Educator and Television Broadcaster, celebrated for her expertise in the world of wine.

Amelia has a remarkable presence in the wine world, having served as the Wine Guru for Jamie Oliver’s Drink Tube Channel and presented on the globally broadcast HULU series, ‘The Wine Show,’ captivating viewers in 105 countries. She appears on Saturday Kitchen, was the former Wine Writer for the UK’s most-read food magazine (Waitrose), the UK Ambassador for the California Wine Institute, and Founder of Amelia’s Wine, an event and media business known for its original and enjoyable wine experiences.

Throughout her 15 years working in the drinks industry, Amelia has always considered wine to be a lens through which we can see the entire world. It brings together culture, food, travel, politics and social trends. She famously kick-started her business by holding wine-centric salon nights in her ‘Basement Bacchanalia’. Due to the warm reception, she continued to curate cross-pollinated wine-centric evenings around the world, collaborating with esteemed organizations such as The National Gallery, Opera Holland Park, City of London Sinfonia, Garsington Opera, and publishing houses like Faber and Enitharmon.
Amelia’s Wine is also an excellent platform for brand collaboration. In the last year, she has worked with regional and national wine marketing bodies (Alsace, New York, California), iconic wine estates (Nyetimber, Symington family wines), vibrant London restaurants (Holland Park’s Julie’s, South Bank’s Sea Containers), hosted trade events for Taste Spain and Decanter Fine Wine, and even did her first wine and football tasting at Aston Villa Stadium.

In 2023, Amelia launched her own podcast, Ameliarate Through Wine, sponsored by Rothschild Wines, where she engages in insightful conversations with top celebrity guests – Monica Galetti, Giles Coren, Candice Braithwaite & Chris Robshaw, to name a few.

In each episode, her mission is to make wine accessible and relevant by using different media and cross-pollinating wine with The Arts and Cultural Zeitgeist. She has lived in different countries and worked with all kinds of people (wine makers to TV producers) to understand not only the product, but also PEOPLE, what makes them love wine, and why wine is important in today’s turbulent world.
